Requirments:

• 14 years 8 months of age
• Permission of parent/gaurdian

Availability:

• Public School District
• Commercial School such as this one

Minimum Course Content:

• Minimum of 24 hours of classroom instruction
• Minimum of 6 hours behind the wheel driving experience

Restrictions:

• May drive only with driver education instructor unless school issued limited parent driving permit

* Completion is not a permit to drive and cannot be treated as a drivers license*

After completion of Segment 1 you will recieve a certificate of completion and you are now ready to apply for Level 1 License.

A parent must accompany teen to a Secretary of State branch office to apply for
Level 1 L icense.

Parents, a few points to remember:

• Notify the drivers education program if your teen has any physical or medical conditions that might affect his or her driving.
• Vision screening will be required prior to your teen's approval to begin live behind the wheel training as part of Segment 1.
• Obtain a certified copy of your teen's birth certificate, hospital birth certificates are not acceptable. Certified birth certificates are available from the county cleark's office of the county where your teen was born.
